Norfolk’s objective is to establish a permanent farmers market with a wide vari-
ety of locally produced offerings that will draw consumers from a wide area, to thereby increase profits for producers that are already established and to create an outlet for small producers that otherwise might not be able to reach consumers directly. As side effects, we hope to encourage producers to diversify and test the profitability of specialty items, and to generally encourage local agriculture and handicrafts.

The steering committee sets policies and guidelines, manages publicity and take turns attending the markets. The manager recruits vendors and handles the operations of each market, reporting to and advising the steering committee.
